Face Recognition in Dynamic Scenes
نویسندگان
چکیده
An integrated system for the acquisition, normalisation and recognition of moving faces in dynamic scenes is introduced. Four face recognition tasks are deened and it is argued that modelling person-speciic probability densities in a generic face space using mixture models provides a technique applicable to all four tasks. The use of Gaussian colour mixtures for face detection and tracking is also described. Results are presented using data from the integrated system.

متن کاملIm2Flow: Motion Hallucination from Static Images for Action Recognition
Existing methods to recognize actions in static images take the images at their face value, learning the appearances—objects, scenes, and body poses—that distinguish each action class. However, such models are deprived of the rich dynamic structure and motions that also define human activity. We propose an approach that hallucinates the unobserved future motion implied by a single snapshot to h...
متن کاملCortical correlates of face and scene inversion: a comparison.
Face recognition is more strongly impaired by stimulus inversion than nonface object recognition. This phenomenon, known as the face inversion effect (FIE), suggests that the visual system contains specialized processing mechanisms that are more engaged by upright faces than by inverted faces or nonface objects. Neuroimaging and neuropsychological studies indicate that environmental scenes may ...
متن کاملLearning a Distribution-based Face Model for Human Face Detection
We present a distribution-based modeling cum example-based learning approach for detecting human faces in cluttered scenes. The distribution-based model captures complex variations in human face patterns that cannot be adequately described by classical pictorial template-based matching techniques or geometric model-based pattern recognition schemes. We also show how explicitly modeling the dist...
متن کاملFace Recognition by Cognitive Discriminant Features
Face recognition is still an active pattern analysis topic. Faces have already been treated as objects or textures, but human face recognition system takes a different approach in face recognition. People refer to faces by their most discriminant features. People usually describe faces in sentences like ``She's snub-nosed'' or ``he's got long nose'' or ``he's got round eyes'' and so like. These...
